I once fitted a Borg and Beck/Laycock mismatch in error. Never again!!!!

The clutch lasted 6 weeks.

The problem I believe is the relationship between the friction plate and the
pressure plate tolerances.

If I had fitted a Laycock/Borg and Beck (ie reversed the set up) apparently
I would have experienced clutch drag and difficulty in changing gear.

As an aside do not recommend a QH clutch either I have had bad experiences
with those. I would recommend a particular clutch manufacturer here in UK.
National Autoparts do a remanufactured 3 piece clutch for the TR4A/5/6 for
45 pounds with a 2 year/20000 mile warranty.

I must have fitted 100s of clutches from this manufacturer in the last few
years and the only three failures being attributable to other causes.

NFI etc. Thought you may be interested in my experiences.
