Actually there is some logic to it.  After twenty+ years in a fixed
position in the underhood heat, the plastic insulation will develope a
memory.  Especially with the loss of the elastomers in the plastic over the
years.

But I can't verify this sincy my car has the alternate engine (V8).  ;-)
