Since I am the one who has recently added the NEW STYLE inertia belts to the
Moss offerings, let me explain. Yes, this is a little commercial, but not
much.
The new style belts we carry are a significant departure from previous
versions. They work on the what is a called "web sensitive" design. It
does not require that the reel be mounted in any specific position or
location, because the pull of the belt locks the reel not the tilt of the
car. They are identical to the three-point belts currently available with
the addition of the reel at the wheel well end. The belt path is as
follows: From the floor mounting point across your lap through the latch
over your shoulder to the top of the wheel well; at that point there is what
is called the B-post loop which attaches to the bolt that goes into the top
of the wheel well (standard mount point); belt goes through this loop to the
inertia reel that can be mounted wherever it works best. This means you
don't need to mount it behind the seat thus restricting seat travel. You
don't have to mount it vertically below the wheel well bolt thus interfering
with the roll bar.
If you want to flame me about this being commercial, do it off-line so we
don't clog the list.
If you have more questions, contact me and I'll try to explain.
