You don't need a spring compressor - just unbolt the shock from top and below 
and it will drop right out. The weight of the car will keep geometry normal. 
You only need a spring compressor when removing spring pressure for more 
difficult in-depth repairs.

When I replaced my shocks I jacked up center front cross member of car then 
put blocks under front tires then lowered the car. The weight of the car 
keeps suspension in normal geometry and shocks are easily unbolted and 
dropped out and replaced from below. Make sure car cannot move about.
