.....Will a TR6 tranny fit on a GT6 engine? If not can the core be used with a
GT6 bellhousing?
Thanks in advance.

David Templeton

GT-6 and TR-6 share the same block. I have a TR-6 engine mated to a GT-6 trans -
inverse of what you are proposing. You will need to change the pilot bushing -
very likely that you will need to have a custom one machined (a trivial job for
a machinist, make certain that oil impregnated bronze stock is used). I had to
buy either a GT-6 pilot bushing and turn down the OD or buy a TR-6 bushing and
open up the ID (my memory is fuzzy on this) for my conversion. You may need to
change the endplate on the engine.

>From memory, the TR-6 trans has an integrally cast bellhousing, where as the
GT-6 has a seperate bellhousing.
