It's easy to do, go to NAPA or any auto parts store and get a short steel pull cable (choke cable or all purpose type). Trim to 2 to 2.5 feet and run it inside the passenger compartment to the release. It looks professional, its strong, and it actually a lot easier to use because of the short lenght and lack of bends.
