Well guys, my cheap shot at Jags is that "Of course a Jag specialist is
going to add a Zero onto the price of a conversion bit for a TR... if for no
other reason than to finance the restoration of one of "their" cars."
Seriously, this is intended to be a Monday funny and not a slag against any
vendor.
And now my Jag story. Last night at the KISS concert (I know, I know) one
of my TR7 friends told me a story about an E type almost bought. It seems
that shortly before our BL dealer got out of TR's etc (mid 80's?) Terry was
looking for some parts for his then-quite clean TR7 coupe.
Drooling at an E type in the showroom, he was offered the car, in E.C., for
his TR7 and $6k Canadian. Dad was not interested in co-signing the loan.
Now, Terry and his new wife (married last week) have 2 Tr.'s, a TR8
(restored) and a bugeye (also restored as an engagement present). Imagine
what he could have done with the proceeds of the sale of a Jag in the late
80's
