Tools for body sheet metal?

Hi,

I need to cut some small rusty pieces of sheet metal away from the
firewall, in a tight location up under the dash.  My hacksaw and Sawzall 
won't fit up under there and I don't own a plasma cutter :-)

I thought the right tool was aviation snips, but I don't own any of these
either (yet) and its been many years since I did anything like this.

What's your advice?  Thanks.
