Subject: TR250 Vacuum control valve

Ok guys, I found the Jag part number for the vacuum valve. It is listed in
the 'Official' Jag parts book as part no. "RTC687". The device is used on
all 1981-86 XJ6 (in dash) A/C control units. There are a total of three in
each car. Two are mounted in a dual bracket and one is a single mount. The
single appears to have the same mounting bracket as the one on my 250. The
only difference I could see was that the tip of the push rod actuator has a
small pointed rubber tip attached to the flat metal tip. This could be
removed very easily.

My friend the Jag mechanic sez the part no. is old and should be cross
referenced to a new number by the parts house.

I'm going to find my valve and take a side by side digital photo this
weekend. I'll email it to all interested.

I've had several requests for info when I found the part no. I hope this
gets to all parties.
