Dear Listers,
I finally finished replacing the main/rod bearings and thrust washers via drop
the oil pan method. I used assembly lube in doing so. I was wondering if I
should pour something(like MMMystery oil or STP or some type of light weight
oil) into the spark plug holes before startup so the pistons/rings et al have
some type of lube in there during the oil pressure build time. My TR6 has not
run since November. I plan on pulling the main coil wire and turning the engine
over till the oil pressure gets up...then starting the engine. This brings me to
the question:

Say you simply parked your car for a few months. How long does an engine have
to sit up to warrant some type of 'helper lube in the cylinders' or anywhere
else for that matter?
