Oh knowledgable ones of the list .....we need your input!

I was reading the post on "bolt-patterns" with mild interest and
amasement at the work someone has gone to....until I saw Triumph
Spitfire under 4 on 3-3/4" and MG Midget under 4 on 4".  What gives.
I thought they were the same and that Spits were 4 on 4"
