Idon't know how many original  PI TR6s were sold in the States,but 
I can throw some light on the build record:
Total production : 13912 of which  : 3655 in Belgium some for the
                                                    US  market
CP cars 150HP : 9300
CR cars 125HP : 4612   detuned from modelyear 73 to improve
                                    driving comfort
