| Subject: | TR-3, Insulating Transmission Hump |

I am thinking about insulating my transmission hump. I am thinking
about using heatshield material part number 409-015, insulating it
underneath and attaching it with high temp silcone sealant sold at wood
burning stove stores. BTW, my 3 has a TR-6 OD trans in it.
My theory is that I want to stop the heat from reaching the steel hump
in the first place, rather than trying to insulate the interior from the hot
hump.
Any suggestions?
