Some states don't care if you are just on temporary assignment. I got a
warning ticket for having Texas plates on my car in Washington. I
explained that I was in WA temporarily to open a retail store and that I
would be returning to Texas in about 6 months. It didn't seem to faze
the cop and I ended up getting WA plates. The Excise tax on vehicle
registration in Washington is rediculous.
