Scott,

There are a number of specialist companies that will transport the car for
your friend. There are a couple of things to consider, value of the car, how
much is your friend prepared to pay. Specialist companies will treat the car
like a cherished auto, place it in a closed truck and properly cover and
secure the car. Cheaper alternatives will be to have the car shipped on an
open trailer, possibly passing from one truck to another depending on the
routes the company travels. Prices are probably going to range from $500 to
$1000. Suggest your friend trawls a copy of Hemmings Motor News magazine
where many of these companies advertise. Horseless Carriages, Intercity
Lines, and Auto Shippers Express are three names to start with. Not
recommendations as I've never used them, but they should all be accessible
via Net.

John.
