This one I can answer!
The Brits drive on the left because most people are right handed and when a
Knight was riding down the road, he rode on the left so that if he suddenly
had to do battle, when he drew his sword it was at the ready.

OK, so long as we're at this one, why do the Brits drive on the "wrong"
side of the road?

 Perhaps BL had a conspiracy to sell Lucas radios and wanted to make
aftermarket swaps impossible or difficult.  Honda STILL changes most of the
"detial pieces" on their cars every 2 years to keep the aftermarket guys
from butting in on their parts business.

And, why do they call them "buildings" when they are already built?
