I tend to agree with you...logically speaking, the metal body of a car acts like a heat sink, dissipating the heat away from the source. Having said that, I still fear sandblasting large areas of LBCs due to the light gauge/soft metal. I do sand blast rust areas and small pieces, but just a little scared of doing much more.
