Thanks to all you who submitted opinions on my previous posts.
Can I impose upon you for one more opinion? Here's what I'm considering as
a temporary fix until I can get a permanent fix for the leaky PDWA.
1. Remove the warning light switch assembly and replacing with the proper
size threaded pipe & cap.
2. Removing the entire interior shuttle assembly (including piston etc.).
3. Reinstalling the PDWA casting empty of the shuttle.
I don't believe that this thing functions as a proportioning valve like we
have in domestic American cars, so I think the brake system should function
normally. Down side is that I would lose the warning light should one side
of my brake system fail. Of course, with a Spitfire, I would probably
learn that fact sooner than the light would tell me anyway (as I wrapped it
around a pole or some other object!).
