I don't know, TeriAnn, it seems to me that the quality of new
chromed bits from all of the big three leaves a great deal to
be desired. Whether it's the new pollution regs or whether
it's just cost targets that's cheapened them the chrome seems
thinner and doesn't seem to adhere as well on most of the new
bits I've bought in the last few years. The bullet mirrors I
bought from TRF 6 years ago are flaking through to brass in
some places already, and I ended up replacing the glovebox
lock with my old one and getting a new key cut for it because
the new one wore down just from thumb pressure over 3 years.
I keep Sonja in a garage all the time, and I never use polish
on the chrome unless it's _seriously_ gunged up.
