Mark,

I've also had broken oil lines over the carpet (in my wife's suburban; that
was not a cool move.) But I still prefer mechanical; I just like the old-
fashioned bourdon tube gages, I guess.

You can purchase a nice new gen-u-wine Smith's electric (or mechanical) gage
from
XK's Unlimited, an authorized Smith's distributor (the only one in the US?).

Price for the electrical oil pressure gage is about $34 (plus a $57.50 sender
if you
are converting and don't already have one!). Comes in black face or "magnolia"
(cream) face.
There is a choice of bezels, chrome or black, and I think full V or semi-V
also. Replacement
glass and bezels available, and all the little gaskets and mounting brackets
are available
from them also. They also have the right-angle speedometer drive gearboxes
listed, that have
been a topic of conversation here lately. They have all needed gages and they
have fuel
level sending units for Smith's fuel gages.

You can get a nice catalog from XK's unlimited by calling 800-444-5247.
They just sent me three gages very promptly...seem to be a good source to me,
based
on my only encounter with them.
