I did a complete rebuild of my clutch system and left the pin out. It works
fine but there is a whining noise when the clutch is released (obviously the
sleeve spinning on the shaft). Because of this I am going to remove and add
the pin. I ordered hardened stainless 3/32" dia. pins from mcamster carr.
I will drill out the existing 1/16" hole and add the pin. I am doing this
because there has to be some wear and heat build up on the forks and I don't
want to replace them again anytime soon. If I were you I would go ahead and
do the same. It sure is worth the peace of mind.
