I see alot of requests for unique hardware items, tools etc. on the
list and wanted to share with you what I feel is an excellent source.
The company is McMaster-Carr and literally has everything "hardware
related" under the sun in every size made for that item. It is usually used
by engineering and manufacturers as a supply house. Their catalog, which in
the past, was nearly impossible to get and 4 inches thick (really) of tissue
thin pages is now entirely web accessible. You can search and find just
about anything under the sun. Then place your order online with a
CreditCard or business billing info and it will ship that day. In my case,
since we are both in Atlanta, if I order at 4pm on Monday it will come on
the Tuesday UPS.
I have no ties or financial interests with this company but have been using
them for years and now that they are more "publically" available I wanted to
share this info with you.
Their tools can be a little high but for everything else they are
excellent. They have a good selection of precision measuring tools as well
but shop around for prices.
