And in the new book, Piggott says very much the same thing.  Very minor
changes in the text at this point.  Nothing substantially new.

Piggott's new book simply says "Finishes available for wire wheels were
lacquer paint (aluminium or silver) or chrome (bright or dull)...".  No
indication of there ever NOT being chrome available.
