John,

My only suggestion would be to mask off the pushrod tubes. I'm pretty sure that
they were
unpainted from the factory or installed after the head was painted.

If anyone knows better please let me know! It's hard to mask those things and
I'd love
not to have do it next time...

Is the TRF head gasket really copper? Or just copper colored Alu. with an
asbestos (?)
center? If it's really copper, it's reusable. Just anneal. (If it's really
copper it
should be annealed before use!) I use Permatex Copercote(?) spray on my copper
headgasket. Try three or four coats and 20 min to dry. I recently had to pull
my head
(doh!) and after being on for a almost a year it popped right off after the
head studs
were removed. It seems to have sealed perfectly.

Good Luck!
