Someone asked me if I saw the Spitfires and GT6 in one of the local
wrecking yards. I hadn't, so I went yesterday morning to take a look, and
this is what I found ...

SPITFIRES

Apr 1980 - complete - it had rust in the rockers, the driver's door
couldn't close properly, and a small push in the front left. Very
rebuildable, it appears that the wreckers want to sell the car complete -
it had "$1050" scrawled on the bonnet with black pen

July 1980 - rusty, front collision, frame bent. Engine and transmission
pulled, interior partially stripped. suspension in place, doors looked OK.
all glass there, top looked tired.

May 1973 - rusty, front collision, frame bent. Same condition as above.

GT6

1967 MK1 - no commission number, but it appears to be an older restoration.
Interior appears to be complete and perfect, complete with low back bucket
seats. engine and tranny pulled, all suspension in place. looks like the
car drove off the road into the ditch, and slipped into it. frame is
seriously bent in the front. left rear quarter is pushed in where
something pushed the bumper in. the bonnet is complete, with minor dings,
and looks like it's been spread out a bit. rust in the left rocker and
under the left rear quarter panel. This car certainly looks rebuildable
..

TR7

3 of them, 1 coupe, 2 convertables. all have had some minor collision, but
the rust in the engine compartment appear to have done them in. All
engines pulled (but available on a shelf elsewhere in the establishment).
Two tops were in good condition, but dirty. most pieces, including interior
was still in the cars.

They are at Ralphs A-Scott Discount Used Parts
10731 - 120 Street, Surrey, BC Canada 800-563-5477 or 604-580-5477

I wanted to take all 7 examples home with me to give them a good home, just
like some people take in stray animals. I really think the GT6 is a good
start for a restoration, but I have no room to stash it. (gotta get that
acreage).

And, as always, I have no interest, yadda, yadda
