I'm not asking for advice this time. I just want to vent my frustration with
this f*%£*$g PI system.
Had to go out to photograph and report on a couple of cars for Classic Cars'
Drive the Ads section. It was hot for the UK, high 70's F. After about 20
miles, I stopped for a lunch break.....
With the injectors lapped, the car had been running beautifully. After the
stop, it started running like a bucket of bolts. Down on power, lumpy,
juddery and generally unpleasant-a bit worrying on a tight schedule job.
Thinking, 'Is it the injectors?....the metering unit...the pump?, I
soldiered on and got it home.
All I did notice was that when I got really angry and hammered the car in
second gear, I got a plume of brownish smoke from the exhaust...strange.
I feel a bit better now, thanks for listening,
