Thanks to whoever posted the Triumph web site containing the Triumph service
bulletins! I printed off all the ones that were pertinent to the GT6+ and
found some issues of interest. In my original 1969 GT6+ the brake light switch
failed. I replaced it with one from a Cadillac. There was a service bulletin
indicating that the fixing nut should be replaced and a spacer installed to
provide more clearance. In another bulletin they recommended lubricating the
clutch pedal pivot bushing if it was necessary to disassemble the pedal. In
the course of restoring my GT6+ I found the bushing seized to the pivot bolt.
Upon closer inspection the hole for the clevis was worn. In the service
bulletin they predicted that this would occur if the pivot wasn't lubricated.
A few months ago someone complained about a rebuilt transmission that wouldn't
properly engage reverse. Another bulletin mentioned the fact that the reverse
gear back up lamp switch had been modified to eliminate some machining on the
gear case and that the switch would foul the selector if used on later
transmissions.

I found these service bulletins to be interesting and helpful. Give them a
looksee and print them out for your library. I highly recommend them for their
content and some of the original factory drawings they contain.
