red light glows

I just completed gauge and lights installation on my project TR4.
Installed a new generator; hooked all up correctly (?). Amp gauge will
not show a charge, but shows proper discharge when key turned on and
lights on. Red light glows and does not go out. Since the generator is
new, should I still start there and have it tested ? I have brown/yellow
and white wire to this light.
