I think this wasn't mentioned because the car in question was a TR6...
they stopped using the fluid-pressure-activated switch by the them the  
TR250 rolled around, I think (might be wrong)

But you're right, if the light switch is in the hydraulic lines, you gotta
bleed them afterwards.
