I picked up new crash pads for the under side of the dash and decided to
refinish the dash as long as I was there. Some comments:
1) Heat gun, worked great. Had all the old varnish off in less than 30
minutes. No clean up, just swept the pieces up.
2) Dead OEM 4-way flasher switch. Easily disassembled, cleaned and
reassembled. Works fine now. Use some spray electrical contact cleaner and
a toothbrush down in the innards.
3) Dead OEM dash dimmer. Same as 4-way. Easily disassembled and cleaned.
Works fine now. Its a real low resistance wire wound pot. Max resistance
measured about 5.5 ohms, min .5 ohms.
