Scions,
I am finishing up the Spitfire restore and was wondering why hard
plastic tubing is used to go from the fuel tank outlet on the top of the
tank
(MKIV) to the metal line that runs along the frame to the engine
compartment.
Is there a reason that a "rubber" fuel hose was not used to go from the tank
to the metal pipe? There has been some speculation over beers of rubber
collapsing from the all powerful mechanical fuel pump.... but I find that
hard to believe. While I am not cutting corners on this car I have to
wonder
why I would pay approx $23 for a few feet of plastic tube.
I finally got a replacement scanner so hope to have some updates to the
website showing the Spitfire project soon. I'll send out a note when it is
loaded.
More later,
Richard Ceraldi
