TR6 clutch question

I have found my clutch on my 76 TR6 to be feeling different lately.  It
doesn't feel as smooth when pushing it in and it is feeling even heavier
than normal.  When I push it in, it seems to stick in places or move in
stages instead of being a fluent motion.  I was wondering if this is a
sign for some possible problem or if I should take any precautions?
