I just did the carbs on my GT6+ two weeks ago, after the PO attempted it
four years ago and then gave up on the car and let it sit again. Two
things that were out of the ordinary to check.

1. The bi-metal air valves attached to the right of the carbs looking at
from the direction of the air cleaners. Mine were open at all times, and
needed to be tightened down (closed), adjusted to open at the same time.
There was a nice write up on the VTR pages about tech tips somewhere.
Check that out.

2. The cold start valves on the left sides. It is possible to turn them
180 degrees off. When I got them, one was in such a position, and I
wasn't sure which way they should go. So I set them to be the same, and
tried to start the car. No luck. Undid the choke attachment, undid the
nuts and flipped the valves around 180 degrees (they are the round disk
thingys) and the car purred.

Just some thoughts in passing
