Hi,

All the "big TR's" have a "snout" on the transmission that unbolts with 4
ea. 5/16's bolts. Removing the seal from the snout is a pain in the ass
because that sucker fits "real tight" in the snout.

Observation: use a real seal removal tool to make the job easy. Also, don't
pry on the "lip" of the snout. The metal is really thin there and it is
possible to break a chunk off the snout. If you do break this thing, I
think it effects proper oiling of the input shaft bearing.

Note: the seals can be purchased from a Napa dealer, but they won't have
that little thin gasket that goes between the snout and the tranny case.
You need that little thin gasket (but you could use RTV, I suppose.
