My TR4 has twin SU HS6s with non-stock air filters.

They are 3-piece units with a foam element. When I got the car the foam
had perished. I got some 1/4" stuff from The Foam Zone (guess what they
sell!) and it works fine.

But I don't know if they are/were K&N or some other brand... they have a
hole in the back for the valve cover vent... chromed front and back, and
the filter foam is held in place by 2 pieces of expanded metal (soffit
vent?)

If people are interested I may make up a few of these units, out of
aluminum... It shouldn't be too hard to spin and polish a bit of sheet
aluminum and make a good job of it.
