Ok, Here is what it is on my old Metro, may it in car Hell. Harmonic build up in the crank, that is is flexes to the resonant frequency. This causes stress especially if these harmonics clash, and cancel each other out. This stress causes the thing to brake. e.g.. A series engines. The A+ series has a harmonic balance, which dampens down the effect if not the harmonics. No idea what it looks like. I think that almost correct, Havant got much time to think any more about it.
