brakelight

A friend of mine has a kind of a problem with his spit. 1500 from 1976. On
the dashboard right next to the "fasten seatbelt" light, there is a "brake"
light. This brakelight keeps going on and of randomly (at least it seems
so) when he is driving. By the looks of the wirering, nothing seems to be
wrong, but nor my friend or I am technicaly skilled.

Has anybody any idea of what could be the problem.
