I'm freshining up my TR4A right now also....I'm staying with orignal colors for
all
engine components -- I believe basic black is correct for the most part. It's
also the
easiest and makes the most sense (heat wise) from an engineering standpoint.
Don't get me
wrong - I'm dressing up the 'old dear a bit- K&N chrome filters, and I'm
polishing the
dashpots, but when the original looks nice, I stay original....

You might want to check out the TRA judging manual when it's available...don't
think it
is yet for 4's....
I agreed with your head treatment -- I say you'd be crazy not to put in
hardened seats
(IMHO). I put big stainless steel valves in too.... ;>)....and shaved .075....
and a mild
cam....
Thought about your rocker arms yet? Rocker Arm Specialists (see monster list)
did a great
job on mine. Although I have no financial interest--I'd like to see them stay
in business
because I have other rocker arms to do! About $80!!! I could hardly believe
it...but it
seems to be true....
Good luck and have fun....
