Subject: HELP-- need a clutch master spring
HELP! I'm in desperate need of a spring for a master cylinder for a 1978
Spitfire.
On Saturday the transmission of the Spit seemed to self destruct just after
a club slalom event. Sadly, I drove home in second and promptly gave up for
the night. On Sunday (after I replaced the transmission with a spare on
hand) I found out that it wasn't the problem.
Instead it was just the small spring in the master cylinder that had snapped.
The bore is fine, all I need is the darn spring.
The problem is that I had a set of spare internals but they are different
from what came out of the damaged master cylinder. The spring I need is the
about the diameter of the piston and ~ 3-4" long, not the smaller one that
was in my spares.
If anyone can help me with a spare please let me know
