I have two comments on this philosophy: It depends and caveat emptor. A
low-mileage car will likely cost you more, but a properly maintained car,
even with high mileage and rebuilt major components, is not something to be
dismissed out of hand. If the car has been well looked-after and you are
able to verify that the rebuild was done by a reputable individual (not Joe
Bob's Auto Repair and Towing), buy the car. The most important thing is to
inspect the car carefully. Even a low-mileage car can be poisoned by bad
maintainance and DPO hacks.
