Jack, I suspect a bad ground, and the fuel gauge is acvting as the ground
for the signals.Ihad a similar problem where my stoplights wouldn't work if
the headlights were on.When they were off, the brake lights were grounding
thru the headlamp circuit

Ok,

My TR3A, is suffering from a loss of electrical function. Big surprise!
The
car runs great, mechanically though.

When the ignition is turned on and the engine started, the fuel gage works
great. As soon as you depress the brake pedal or use a directional signal,
the fuel gage goes to empty and the brake lights and directionals don't
work. Shut the car down and restart everything (the fuel gage) is OK,
until
you try the brake or directional again. I know all this stuff comes off a
common 25A fuze, which looks good although I have not tested it or
substituted a new one yet.

Any suggestions?
