I would like to add a couple more REALLYs to Barry's comments. The O/D
solenoid is a fairly heavy current drain, and an inductive load, a severe
test of a switch. As for how to wire it, I highly recommend following the
factory wiring scheme. Specifically, connect the C1 relay terminal to a large
brown wire, the C2 terminal to the O/D solenoid. Connect the W1 relay
terminal to a white wire, and the W2 terminal to the O/D switch. Connect the
other O/D switch lead to the transmission permissive switches that Barry
mentioned. The Brown wire (C1 connection) carries the full load of the
solenoid, while the white wire only carries the current of the relay. The
white wire is not sized to carry the solenoid current.
