RE: Spitfire leaf spring re-arching- When I first started modifying ny GT6
for
autocrossing I had the spring de-arched to lower the car. At a big truck
spring
place too. As long as you can give them a measurement to work to there
should
be no problem. I laid my stock spring on the floor and measured to its top,
then
deducted how much I wanted the car to be lower. That's what the shop gave
me. To re-arch the spring is just the opposite procedure.

As to putting coil springs in instead- some years ago at an SCCA Northeast
Division Pro Solo autocross in Harrisburg, PA, I saw 3 different Spifires
running
the event. Each had a different setup at the rear and the fastest one had
coilover
shocks at the rear, AND the leaf spring. The leaf spring was doing its work
as
the upright locator and the coilovers did the springing. Of course, the
setup was
attached to the rollbar at the top and to a bracket at the original shock
location.

RE: Yellow TR6 on cover of magazine- I just got my copy of this month's
Classic & Sportscar and there it is on the front!
