Chet and Bill,
My shocks are Armstrongs. I couldn't see the top of the shock to know
that the top of my inverted triangle was really a shield like Bill's
drawing shown below.
Thanks to you and any one else who was able to help me solve this
mystery.
Armstrong front shocks have a blue striped sticker like this:
