I too have seen this stuff at a car show, Pretty durable, looks bullet
proof, and can be put on in variuos thicknesses as specified by customer.

A while ago there was a thread about different ways to prepare a frame
during a
frame-off restoration. One of the suggestions was using a compound which is
sold as a spray-on truck bed liner.
While at the Calgary car show last night I came upon one display which had
this
stuff. I checked it out and it looks really solid. Although the guy selling
it
was winging his answer to my question about using this for frame coating.
Furthermore. the stuff is sprayed on so getting it inside the frame's
hollow
sections would not be possible. Apparently the cost to do a bare frame
might be
in the neighborhood of $200 Canadian with a lifetime guarantee. I think the
guarantee is strictly for the stuff to remain adhered to the frame and
_not_
for the prevention of rust on the frame.
All that aside, I noticed that this stuff would also be a good option for
the
rocker panel coating of the later TR6s (mine is a 76 and definitely had
this
black undercoating-like substance on the rocker panel below the chrome
strip).
I remember someone asking about this some 12 months ago.
The guy had pictures of various applications he had done and one was even
to
line the interior of a Jeep which had no roof (soft or otherwise) and was
always exposed to the elements (just the floor and door interior, not the
seats
or dash). This stuff is really durable!
