Fred,
Living in the Carpet Capitol of the World, loop pile is a type of
carpeting, nylon and wool are just some of the yarns used to make the
carpet. Wool could be used to make a loop pile, nylon could be used, or
any of a hundred other types of filaments. No flame intended, but after
programming in the business for six years some of the knowledge rubs
off.
BTW, marine carpet works extremely well as a replacement. It doesn't
degrade and fall apart when it gets wet (how many LBCs have 100%
leakproof tops? ;-) ). Plus you can get marine carpet in most styles
that were available for sportscars.
