In a previous Triumph 2500S with A J-Type O/D, I was persuaded by the the
local Transmission specialist to use Castrol MXT when refilling after
replacing the seals. When I queried him about the effects it would have on
the Overdrive clutches, he assured me that I would have no problem.

Unfortunately, I did not get the drive the car for an extended length of
time as it was written off in an accident, but the guy who bought the
transmission off me has reported no problems since, although the car is not
used hard. I can say the shifting of the gears and the engagement of the
overdrive did seem better, but then that is only a subjective opinion...
