Next week I'm going to look at a 79 Spitfire with 71k and a "recently" rebuilt engine. I'm told by the dealer it is very cold blooded and has a flat spot when accelerating, even when warm. What are the usual causes for this? Ignition, carb or both? Could it be something more drastic? Is there some way to easily diagnose the problem during my examination and test drive of the car? Thanks! badams@cyberport.com |
