The jets and needles are designed to fail on account of contact wear, the
temp compensators, run on valves, shaft seals, bushings, and auto chokes do
not stay in adjustment. They work fine when new, but when subjected to the
heat, dirt, vibration, contamination of an automotive environment, they fail.
Just that simple. Engineering should have considered the application a
little more carefully prior to designing the product. THe constant
depression principal is great as an idea, but the hardware for the execution
lacks durability and reliability. They don't even make good door stops, in
my estimation.

My (sorry) not so humble opinion.
