Just been there, done that!  Excellent local radiator shop here 
cleaned my Spitfire tank with ultrasonic system for $28.50.  I then 
used Eastwood's 3-part fuel tank cleaner-etcher-sealer system at a 
cost of $39.95 plus shipping.  Worked great.
